JAVIER LOPEZ CABRERA

Javier Lopez Cabrera Javier graduated with a BSc in Geology in 2014 and an MSc in Energetic Resources Exploration in 2015 from University of Granada (UGR). Javier worked in landslide cartography and modelling in UGR before joining iCRAG in 2017 to undertake PhD research under the supervision of Dr Tom Manzocchi and Peter Haughton. His research focuses on modelling and measuring stacking patterns in turbidite sequences by mathematical analysis, numerical modelling and outcrop data characterisation, which will advance the understanding of these sequences. General research interests include carbonate/clastic sedimentology, sequential stratigraphy, modelling and data analysis.

ROBERT DOYLE

Rob Doyle Rob graduated with a BSc in Geology in 2015 from University College Dublin and having worked as a Junior Exploration Geologist for Vedanta Exploration Ireland Limited for 6 months he joined iCRAG as a Research Assistant in January 2016. His research has concentrated on the 3D modelling of the Irish Zn-Pb Orefield from exploration archive data, with particular emphasis on defining the tectonostratigraphic framework of Lower Carboniferous Basins and the completion of a new online resource for mineral exploration in Ireland. Rob is currently a Research Geoscientist and he is also performing an MSc on defining the structurally controlled facies variations on regional through to fault scale.

JOHN PAUL MOORE

John Paul Moore John Paul completed his BSc at University College Dublin in 2005 and an MSc in Hydrogeology at University of Leeds in 2006. Having worked in the groundwater industry for several years, he started a PhD project entitled Quantitative analysis of fracture systems and their impact on flow pathways in Irish bedrock aquifers, which he is currently writing up. He has also worked as a Research Assistant within iCRAG. His PhD was originally funded by an EPA Strive PhD Studentship, with John Walsh as his principal superviser, and with Tom Manzocchi, Taly Hunter-Williams (Geological Survey of Ireland) and Ulrich Ofterdinger (Queens University Belfast) as advisors.

CONOR O'SULLIVAN

Conor O'Sullivan Conor holds a BSc in Geology and an MSc in Petroleum Geoscience from Imperial College London, and was awarded the PESGB Young Professional Scholarship for his undergraduate thesis. Following his MSc, Conor worked as a geoscientist with Centrica, investigating the structural development of the Southern North Sea, and as a research geophysicist with Apex Geoservices, developing new methods for geophysical visualisation. Conor joined iCRAG in 2017 to study for a PhD under the supervision of Conrad Childs. His research focuses on on seismic mapping and fault analysis to better define the structural evolution of the Slyne and Erris basins.
